Now with gas prices nearing $4.00 per gallon, I figure it is time to write an article about the top scooters. I checked both gas and electric scooters. Here is my list as I see it:

The obvious winner is the VESPA brand scooter. Vespa’s have four stroke engines and are able to travel at up to 60 - 65 mph (some go as high as 90mph) and get in the area of 70 miles per gallon. You can buy a Vesp from $2,000 - $9,000 for the top of the line. There are also many vespa’s for sale on websites like Craigslist. You can fill up the tank for as little as $5.00 and drive around for up to two weeks without filling up again.

Some popular Vespa models are the Vespa Granturismo, Vespa GTX, Vespa LX, Vespa S, Vespa Plaggio. Vespa currently has many no money down options available. I particularly am old school and love some of the old classic Vespa scooters out there.

Second place, Honda Scooters. The Honda Ruckus has a $2,000 price tag and is Honda’s lowest price scooter model. The top model for Honda Scooters is the Silver Wing ABs. The price is $8,600, but it is an awesome scooter. The coolest item is the ABS braking system. This will prevent a lot of accidents. This scooter actually looks like a motorcycle. Other scooters by Honda are the Reflex Scooter, Reflex Sport Scooter, Honda Helix Scooter, and the Honea Metropolitan Scooter.
