The 2007 Desmosedici RR is the result of over five years of development. It is without a doubt the most advanced production motorcycle ever created by Ducati.
Even though the story of the Desmosedici RR can be traced back to the earliest years of Ducati’s racing efforts, the motorcycle is a more immediate result of Ducati’s decision to enter the MotoGP series after 4-stroke engines were permitted to compete.
Ducati took a giant leap of faith after simulating every possible combination on computer models to go with an L-four engine. In keeping with Ducati tradition, the Desmodromic valves were maintained. The result is a 200hp racer which was refined over the past four years and proven itself on the tracks. Ducati is poised to take the MotoGP manufacturer’s championship the year of the Desmosedici’s debut.
